Engineers add prototypes/projects with IPT (Integrated Project Team) members, participants, dates and locations, attach camera photos of each item, record per-item income/expense/balance, and export CSV progress reports.

Scope of delivery

Built the iPrototype hybrid mobile app for the iOS team of MAHLE to report the progress of prototypes. Developed an Ionic 3 (Angular) application with an SQLite data layer (product table: ipt, project, participants, date, location), camera and file/base64 capture for product photos, income/expense/balance bookkeeping per item, and an export service that produces CSV progress reports.

02 Business Challenge

MAHLE needed a portable field tool to capture and report the progress of product prototypes - logging prototypes, participants and dates on-site, with photos and per-item tracking, plus usable report export.

03 Our Solution

Built the iPrototype hybrid app with Ionic 3 (Angular) and Cordova. Developed an SQLite data layer (product: ipt, project, participants, date, location), a camera/base64 photo pipeline, per-product income/expense/balance tracking, biometric (Touch ID/fingerprint) & PIN security, and an export service for CSV progress reports.

Engineering approach

Engineered a Cordova-backed cross-platform app using cordova-sqlite-storage for persistent on-device records and a Base64 image pipeline (camera + file plugin) to store captured photos locally. Integrated fingerprint-aio / touch-id / pin-dialog / pincheck for device-level security and provided a dedicated export service for generating report data.
