VIDA is a Spring Boot / Spring Cloud digital-identity and eKYC (electronic Know-Your-Customer) platform for Indonesian digital identity. It comprises an Identity Server (id_svr) microservices suite - registration, eKYC, face verification/liveness, OTP, CA/e-sign (escrow + PDFBox + BouncyCastle), MOHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) integration, Kafka eventing, Eureka discovery and a reactive JWT gateway, plus Tesseract OCR and Thymeleaf clients - and an Operators & Services (oss_svr) backend with partner/product management, transaction reporting, and an Angular operator portal.

01 Overview

VIDA is a Spring Boot / Spring Cloud digital-identity and eKYC (electronic Know-Your-Customer) platform for Indonesian digital identity. It comprises an Identity Server (id_svr) microservices suite - registration, eKYC, face verification/liveness, OTP, CA/e-sign (escrow + PDFBox + BouncyCastle), MOHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) integration, Kafka eventing, Eureka discovery and a reactive JWT gateway, plus Tesseract OCR and Thymeleaf clients - and an Operators & Services (oss_svr) backend with partner/product management, transaction reporting, and an Angular operator portal.

Scope of delivery

Built and delivered the VIDA digital-identity/eKYC platform: the id_svr Identity Server microservices (registration, eKYC, liveness, OTP, CA/e-sign, MOHA integration, Kafka eventing, Eureka discovery and reactive gateway, OCR/Thymeleaf apps, nginx + logstash) and the oss_svr operators/services backend (partner & product management, OTP, transaction/reporting, user/roles, and the Angular operator portal) with their MySQL schemas.

02 Business Challenge

VIDA needed a production-grade digital-identity and eKYC platform for Indonesia: registering and verifying citizens, issuing e-signatures via a certificate authority, integrating with the Ministry of Home Affairs, and giving partners and operators full self-service tooling - all as resilient, observable microservices.

03 Our Solution

Built the VIDA digital-identity/eKYC platform as two Maven multi-module Spring Cloud repos: the id_svr Identity Server (registration, eKYC, liveness, OTP, CA/e-sign, MOHA integration, Kafka eventing, Eureka discovery and a reactive JWT gateway, plus Tesseract OCR and Thymeleaf clients) and the oss_svr operators & services backend (partner & product management, OTP, transaction/reporting, user/roles, and an Angular 7 operator portal), with MySQL schemas and Jenkins/RPM/systemd deployment.

Engineering approach

Implemented as Spring Boot / Spring Cloud (Greenwich) Java 8 microservices in two Maven multi-module repos, using Eureka for discovery with a reactive JWT gateway, Kafka for async integration, MySQL 8 + Hibernate for persistence, Tess4J/Tesseract for OCR, escrow/PDFBox + BouncyCastle for e-sign/CA, an Angular 7 operator UI, and nginx + Logstash-to-Elasticsearch for secure ingress (rate limiting) and PII-masked centralized logging - deployed via Jenkins/RPM/systemd.
